3’5 x 10’8 Vintage Turkish Kilim Runner, Hemp + Goat Hair Brown & Beige ‘5674

Description

These vintage goat hair, hemp and wool kilim runners and small pieces started out as grain sacks (before the introduction of plastic) Now they have been turned into rugs. We can only find them in summertime as the mountains in the Black Sea region of Turkey is covered in snow in winter. They have unique cicim symbols to help the villagers distinguish between one anothers grain. We professionally wash and restore each piece and sometimes we’ll keep the original patches which we find endearing to its storied past.

The main colors are dark brown goat hair wool tweeded with beige wool with several authentic symbols added by the weaver
