Description
This intricate Hanbel runner was designed by Fadma and will be woven by artisans from the Aït Ouaouzguite tribe.
Rooted in the Siroua region, where the High Atlas meets the Anti-Atlas Mountains, this piece blends Flatweave, embroidery, and hand-knotting to create a rug that is both textured and symbolic.
The border represents the defensive walls that traditionally surround a Kasbah, adding deeper meaning to the design.
Woven from 100% “live” Moroccan sheep’s wool and dyed with all-natural spices and plants by our third-generation dyer, each piece carries a unique and storied finish.
While most of the weave is flat, the motifs rise slightly, adding depth and dimension. Each design comes entirely from the artisan’s imagination, with symbols that represent protection, strength, beauty, and respect.
