Kebira’s Protective Vintage Heirloom

This vintage rug is over 20 years old and comes fromKerbia, the leader oftheTimnayAssociation.

Originally from Tiouine, a village located 20 km southeast of Ouarzazate, she now lives inTaznakht with her husband and three children.

Madeof100% wool from the local sheep of the village, Kebira carded, brushed and spun the wool by hand. She then used local plants, spices and herbs to dye the wool to achieve these vibrant hues.

Theouter border is thought torepresent a symbol of fertility and magic while the elements in the middle represent protection from evil.

With proper care, this piece will continue tolast for manydecades to come.
