M’rirt’s Striped Bands Hand-Knot

This rug was handwoven by a talented collective of artisans from a village near Beni M’rirt, nestled in Morocco’s Middle Atlas Mountains.

Led by Soukina, the group includes 35 women who have been crafting exceptional pieces since the early 2000s, when Soukina’s late mother first founded the atelier. Specializing in medium-to-high hand-knot techniques—a style deeply rooted in regional tradition—their work is known for its dense structure and signature plush texture.

Recessed lines add subtle depth, giving the rug a layered quality.

Each rug is made from 100% “live” wool and naturally dyed by a third-generation family of master dyers.
