M’rirt’s Recessed Pebble Hand-Knot

This rugwaswovenby a group of artisans who reside in avillagejust outside of Beni M’rirtwhich is located within the Middle Atlas Mountains.

Keltouma and her daughter Soukina lead this group of 25 artisans from a Village just outside Beni M’rirt, in the Middle Atlas Mountains. Founded in the early 2000s, the collective makes medium to high hand-knot rugs, a style named after the region. Traditional rugs from this region use a thick knotting technique, which makes the rugs feel extra plush.

The traditional Beni M’rirt rug contains a thick knotwhich allows for their rugs to feel extra plush.

This rug is made up of 100% undyed sheep’s wool.

This style has been modernized by incorporating uniquerecessed Flatweave lines whichcreates a mesmerizing pebble dimension to the rug.

It feels just as cozy, plush and soft as it looks.
